Job Description

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist plays an integral role in cultivating a high-performance culture focused on personal and professional growth and inclusive leadership excellence.


Reporting to the Director of Inclusive Leadership, the DEI Specialist will act as an ambassador, advocate, and support for inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives across the business. The Specialist will collaborate with internal and external partners to drive a culture of inclusion. The ideal candidate understands and champions the connection between Leadership Development and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and has a background in events/program planning and management.


This role is based in our Tampa Restaurant Support Center and would work a hybrid schedule (mix of onsite and remote).


POSITION DETAILS


* Support the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategy by implementing DEI programs and initiatives across brands/departments and evaluating activities to ensure they meet our desired goals and objectives

* Manage, plan, and execute programs to drive and support the high functioning and impact of Bloomin’ Brands’ Employee Resource Groups (ERG)

oBuild trust-based relationships with ERG leaders and members in support of all ERG initiatives and activities to drive engagement, measurable outcomes, and impact

oServe as the primary point of contact for ERGs to coordinate administrative tasks, provide input on events and programs, and answer ERG questions

oBuild relationships with ERG executive sponsors and other key stakeholders to maintain open lines of communication and cultivate commitment and advocacy

oProvide management and oversight of ERG operations budget

oResearch and share best practices and new initiatives that could address current and future challenges with DEI, company culture, and employee engagement

* Support the administration of DEI training and education activities and assist with learning opportunities that support leaders in reaching their DEI goals

* Maintain Inclusive Leadership programming and communications calendars and facilitate partnership with Corporate Affairs/Communications to communicate internal and external programs, initiatives, and observances

* Assist with culture-enhancing programs to promote inclusion and engagement and drive connection at the Restaurant Support Center

* Provide support for Courageous Conversations and Heritage Month celebrations

* Drive internal branding of DEI programs and initiatives and create compelling communications for internal marketing


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


* 1-3 years in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) or proven understanding of DEI principles

* Experience in program and event planning and/or managing projects

* Ability to develop positive working relationships and maintain partnerships across multiple levels of an organization.

* Strong experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; graphic design experience is considered a plus.

* Restaurant or hospitality industry experience

* Strong organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

* Experience facilitating meetings or presenting to various audiences

* Ability to engage others and inspire action through effective communication

* Ability to create compelling communications and visuals for internal marketing
