Director, Digital Platforms

This role is responsible for managing the design, development, and delivery of the eCommerce platform supporting over 1,000 restaurants across four distinct concepts. In this capacity, the Director, Digital Platforms will provide technical leadership and manage the digital technology team development and delivery (internal and partners) in support of the overall eCommerce business plan. This position will work with key cross functional stakeholders to understand and manage expectations and provide technical consultation as well as direct the team's technical implementation of appropriate eCommerce solutions to meet business requirements within agreed upon time frames and budgets.

This position is based in our Tampa, FL Restaurant Support Center (Corporate HQ).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provides Digital leadership for all applications necessary for business effectiveness.
  • Partners with business to determine and implement best solutions while aligned with broader corporate goals.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork, coach and mentor staff, and empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals.
  • Develop eCommerce Technology strategic roadmap and tech stack aligned with the company’s operating platforms.
  • Assess, select, and manage third-party partner capabilities for solution implementation and consultation, to meet expectations while maximizing cost efficiency, quality, timeliness, and responsiveness.
  • Ensure all eCommerce platform components are well integrated, highly available & scalable, and adequately monitored for optimal service availability and performance.
  • Monitor and analyze eCommerce and supporting technologies as to fit to desired outcomes.
  • Lead team of analysts, developers, architects, and technology leads.
  • Strong financial management with demonstrated experience in managing multi-million dollars projects/operations.
  • Directs all aspects of performance management and career development for associates under their jurisdiction.
  • Interacts directly with the client and support team members across the IT organization.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Provide frequent and transparent updates, manage sponsor expectations, and keep all stakeholders informed of the progress of all projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the senior IT leadership team and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Ensure interdependencies across programs/projects are identified effectively and risks are managed preemptively.
  • Coordinate and manage outside vendors, contract negotiations, licensing, maintenance contracts and service level agreements for programs under the department’s direction.
  • Oversee all project work streams, business readiness, change management, operational support, data migrations, and process engineering across all platforms within his/her responsibility.
  • Establish an effective support framework to ensure the highest uptime of all systems under his/her area of control.
  • Responsible for department and individual performance assessments and improvement plans.
  • Responsible for coaching, counseling, assisting employees to develop individual career development and training plans.
  • Promote innovation across the company’s platforms that would improve the guest experience and unlocks value for our guests.


REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, required.

Experience/Skills:

  • 10-15 years IT experience, with minimum 7+ years on an IT leadership role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the digital ecosystem and how web, mobile, social, search and e-commerce channels work together to optimize behavior, acquisition and sales.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing and the role digital plays in the marketing mix.
  • Familiarity with marketing segmentation, analytics and a general understanding of key marketing performance indicators.
  • Direct experience with web and social measurement/analytics/tools preferred.
  • Strong management skills with proven ability to drive projects to successful completion, on time and within budget.
  • Ability to adapt graciously to changing business conditions and priorities.
  • Experience in multi-location hospitality and/or entertainment industries preferred.
  • Experience required in multiple technical platforms, operating systems, databases and development languages.
  • Effective understanding of Agile and DevOps frameworks and their impact to development and support.
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in developing web and mobile apps for multi-location industries.
  • Proven track record of driving change in large scale implementations.
  • Experience in high volume/high customer contact industries.
  • Ability to communicate abstract concepts to a broad audience in terms that are clearly understood.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills and ability to achieve results via effective influence.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work.
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
