Cash Accounting Associate
The Cash Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the company’s cash accounting processes, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of cash-related transactions across multiple restaurant locations. The expectation is that the person can perform analysis and research with some direction, and routine tasks with little or no direction. This position requires collaboration and interaction with the field and various internal teams on a regular basis.
This role is based in our Tampa Restaurant Support Center and will work a hybrid schedule (mix of onsite and remote).
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
- Performs monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entry preparation, accruals, GL review and account reconciliations
- Performs daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit card funding, Point-of-Sale systems, and deposits
- Investigates cash variances, discrepancies, missing deposits, and timing differences
- Monitors and maintains cash clearing accounts to ensure timely resolution for outstanding items
- Ensures accurate reporting of restaurant level revenue and cash transactions
- Assists with accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data, timely escalation of issues
- Contributes to ongoing process improvements within department and job function
- Proactively identifies and resolves potential accounting and control issues related to business and process changes
- Assists in the development of tools, reporting, and metrics to maximize efficiencies
- Answers ad-hoc requests by researching and analyzing data
- Daily interaction/support to field management in regards to the restaurant financials
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience in an Accounting, Finance, Banking or Treasury role
- Deadline-oriented with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion
- Must possess high integrity, is results driven and offer solutions
- Thrives on working in a fast-paced environment while being adaptable to change
- Confident team player with strong interpersonal skills who can work across multiple functions to achieve goals
- Able to present ideas and generate enthusiasm and support around them
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise accounting/ERP systems (SAP preferred)
EDUCATION
- Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related Business Degree, or equivalent work experience
