Assistant Construction Project Manager
Job Description
The Assistant Construction Project Manager will be responsible for completing daily project operations including but not limited to managing project related documents, support all project management activities for the successful planning, tracking, and reporting of essential metrics to ensure the success of company goals and objectives, conduct weekly project and team meetings and working with vendors and ensuring the proper setup and closeout of projects.
As an Assistant Construction Project Manager, you will help to manage the overall project direction, completion, and financial outcome. You will work directly with project team members to oversee all business aspects of a project, including planning, scheduling, and coordination, including owner and subcontractor relationships for assigned projects. Projects will typically involve renovations of concept restaurants.
The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and customer service skills.
The role is based in our Tampa Restaurant Support Center and would have a hybrid work schedule (including three days/week onsite).
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist with planning and preconstruction efforts
* Assists with reports regarding financial performance of the project
* Resolves conflict with subcontractors
* Compiles reports regarding financial performance of the project
* Manage special projects and remodels
* Prepare trade contracts and bid packages, as well as oversee procurement process
* Oversee performance of project including, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems, maintain relationships with designers and consultants
* Attend and lead project meetings, including progress, pre-construction and pre-award
* Review brand standards from design for compliance with specifications
* Conduct quality control and punch list inspections, as required
* Manage subcontractor and vendor payment processes
* Other duties as assigned
JOB SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
* Proven experience in managing small projects
* Thorough understanding of construction industry, preferably in hospitality /F&B
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Good math/accounting skills
* Strong management skills
* Functions effectively as part of a team
* Ability to develop or maintain relationships with restaurant field staff, suppliers and vendors
* Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
* Dependability
* Strong decision making/problem solving skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
* 5 years of industry experience
* Proficient in MS Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
* Experience speaking with general contractors and vendors regarding project details
* Good written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions using data
* Ability to manage multiple priorities with a close attention to detail and organization
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work well with all levels of staff and stakeholders (Third Party Service Providers and Vendors)
